Vikre Distillery Spirits and Holiday Cocktail Class

Join us as we welcome Ellen Vaagen of Vikre Distillery as she showcases the perfect gins and liqueurs for your holiday cocktails, and teaches you how to make some show stopping drinks.

Vikre Distillery is nestled on the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth, MN where the nature and culture of the northwoods of Minnesota and Wisconsin serve as both the inspiration and terroir to create spirits with flavor like nowhere else.

Vikre’s line of Boreal Gins (Juniper, Spruce, and Cedar) set the standard for craft gin in the upper midwest when they were released nearly 11 years ago. Distillery founder Emily Vikre is a PhD in food policy and nutrition, as well as an acclaimed cocktail and cookbook author.

She used her meticulous palate to choose botanicals one could find on a walk in the northwoods to create three distinctive styles of gin: Juniper, Spruce, and Cedar - all of which are trees native to the Lake Superior watershed. Each gin showcases the different and unique qualities that draw people to this classic spirit. From the traditional and delightfully bright Juniper, the floral and herbaceous Spruce, to the warm and woodsy sauna-esque appeal of the Cedar; Vikre has a gin for everyone.

Drawing on a profound passion for cocktails, Emily and her team have also worked diligently to craft the ideal cocktail modifiers to showcase Vikre's immaculate spirits, all made with whole botanicals and no food coloring or corn syrup.
