Get to Know AFSP, our lifesaving resources and learn about the Central Wisconsin Out of the Darkness Walk, a community event dedicated to education, connection, and healing.

We’ll kick things off with an introduction to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), including how local Out of the Darkness Walks help fund critical community programs, resources, and support our mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. Then, we’ll present Talk Saves Lives, AFSP’s signature suicide prevention education program. We'll wrap up with a brief walk committee meeting for anyone interested in helping plan this year’s Central WI Walk.

All are welcome! Whether you're curious about AFSP, passionate about prevention, or looking for ways to get involved.

Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention is AFSP’s 60-minute flagship suicide prevention education program that covers the scope of this leading cause of death, what the research has found to be the warning signs and risk factors of suicide, and the strategies that prevent it.
