Botanical Medicine Making: Calendula & the Art of Oil Infusions with Jes S.

Join herbalist, Jes Striker, for an educational and hands-on class exploring the art of botanical medicine making & the healing properties of Calendula. Together we will explore calendula’s various uses & we will learn how to make our very own herbal infused oil to take home.

Jes Striker is originally from a small town deep in the Colorado Mountains. She is a graduate of the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies, where she specialized as a regional herbalist focusing on the high elevation plants of the Rocky Mountains. Her work has centered on the study and conservation of at-risk and endangered medicinal plants. Building on this foundation, Jes pursued further studies in organic growing practices and permaculture design, integrating sustainable approaches into her work with plants and ecosystems. Recently relocating to California, Jes brings her passion for plant medicine and ecological stewardship to a new landscape. She continues to explore and adapt, immersing herself in the coastal and chaparral ecosystems while maintaining her commitment to conservation and sustainable growing practices. With a deep passion for education and plant medicine, Jes has taught Herbal Therapeutics and Medicine Making at Colorado Mountain College, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and led informative herb walks throughout the Rocky Mountains. She has worked as an herb buyer and marketing specialist for a small independent health food store, created and managed several herbal gardens and production at a small farm, and founded her own herbal tea company, later expanding into herbal product development.
