Peters Tornado Bash: 2025

On May 11, 2024 a tornado touched down in Peters Township. This is a rare event for us. Neighbors in Old Trail, Chadwick Estates, Finleyville, Kingwood and others were affected. The ferocity of the storm damaged multiple roofs, windows, trailers and even lifted chimneys.
The response received by Fire, Police, EMS, Public Works and Roofers was immediate. A gas leak from a damaged outdoor grill was contained by Fire Fighters. Damaged roofs were immediately covered with tarp. Public Works from Peters Township responded quickly to the needs of the affected neighbors. If we could get our damaged property to the curb, they would remove it. Crippled trees would be removed. as well.
Several neighbors suggested an anniversary block party to celebrate all involved in this devastating event. Our Township Manager has given his approval for this. The Peters Tornado Bash-2025 will commence May 17th, 2025 from 1-4pm. Hedgerow Drive will be blocked off from the entrance to Longleaf. We have scheduled Food Trucks, DJ, Balloon Artistry, Face Painters and more. This event is open to neighbors and the aforementioned first responders..and anyone that can attend. Join us!
