Curious about how mushrooms can become more than just food? In this creative, hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to grow your own unique design using mycelium — the root-like structure of fungi that can grow into all sorts of shapes and forms.
You don’t need any experience in design or knowledge of mushrooms. Annesofie will guide you through the whole process of using this amazing natural material to grow something at home.
What You’ll Do:
- Get Inspired: We’ll start with a fun introduction to what mycelium is and how it’s being used in fashion, architecture, and sustainable design around the world.
- Design your mould: Using materials provided, you will make your 3d mould which will be used to grow mycelium into the shape you want
- Packing the mould: You’ll mix natural materials and mycelium together and pack them into molds to form the shape of your design.
- Watch It Grow: Your creation will be stored in a cozy environment so the mycelium can grow and take shape.
- Reveal and Finish: After some time, you’ll take your creation out of the mold and learn how to dry and preserve it.
What You’ll Leave With:
- A one-of-a-kind object made by you
- A basic understanding of how to grow and shape mycelium
- The knowledge and tools to try it again at home
This is a fun and experimental workshop — perfect for anyone curious about nature, creativity, or sustainability.
