For the first time ever, ARTworks Vass is hosting a weeklong Kids' Camp dedicated entirely to making North Carolina Pottery!
Our 2025 Kids' Pottery Camp with Marie The Potter, from July 28th through August 1st, will focus on:
-learning about the pottery making process, materials, and the history of Pottery in the Carolinas, and
-daily handbuilding pottery projects using a wide variety of techniques,
-taking a turn at the wheel to throw small bowls, sculptures, or other pieces of functional pottery.
Your Children will have more fun than you can possibly imagine as they build confidence, learn skills, and enjoy the camaraderie with new friends in our creative classes.
We'll start camp week with a well-planned curriculum that includes a ton of variety for your Children. We also allow room for flexibility to adjust our schedule and our class projects based on the needs and preferences of the registered guests in attendance.
Schedule for Campers
Camp is held Monday through Friday morning.
Drop Off is between 8:45 and 9:00.
Pickup is at 12:00 noon.

Ages of Campers
We invite Children who are rising 2nd Graders through rising 8th Graders to participate in Camps.
Regardless of age, Campers should be able to function fairly independently in our classrooms for up to an hour at a time.
Campers should also be able to function independently in our bathrooms.
Adults are not permitted to register as students in camp.
If you'd like to stay close to your Children without being next to them in the classroom with our Campers, before registering email the specifics of your situation to us at

If you're Children are slightly younger or older than the age range stated here, and if you're confident that they'd be a good fit for our Camps, before registering email the specifics of your situation to us at

Price of Camps
Camp pricing is all inclusive, and it includes all supplies, instruction, kiln firings, and almost anything else that you can imagine.
Morning Pottery Camp is priced at $299.
Registration Information
At this time, Camp registration is for the full week only, and not for individual days.
When registering, answer the questions for 1 child at a time then add that child's camp to your cart.
Repeat the process individually for each child that you're registering.
When all children have been registered, proceed to your cart and checkout.
Registration allows for one Guest to attend.
Only Registered Guests may attend camp.
Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
With Regard to Pottery and Ceramic Projects
Pottery projects created during this camp will be ready for pickup approximately 2 weeks after the end of camp.
We will send you a text message when all projects are ready for pickup.
If your children are unable to attend Pottery Glazing Day on Friday, or if they don't finish glazing during their camp session, their pottery creations will be labeled and stored under their name. You may then return with them at any time during regular business hours to glaze.
Other Important Information About Camps at ARTworks Vass
We ask that a responsible adult present their children to our instructor in the classroom at the beginning of each class, and pick them up inside of our classroom at the end of the day.
Expect us to confirm your cell phone number and possible health concerns upon arrival.
Under no circumstances will your Children be permitted to wait outside for pickup.
Camp sessions start and end promptly as scheduled.
Dress your Children to get messy or send an apron with them.
For half day camps, plan to send your child with a nut-free snack and a drink with a lid.
Do not send your Children to camp if they've experienced flu-like symptoms within 24 hours of camp.
Do not send your Children to camp after an illness unless they've been fever-free for 24 hours before camp without the use of a fever-reducing medication.

Class registrations are nonrefundable and your scheduled classes cannot be changed after registration.
Important Information About Creating Pottery at ARTworks Vass
Your Children's safety is more important to us than any amount of money, and this is reflected in the seriousness with which we take pottery studio cleanliness and safety.
Many of the risks involved in making pottery can be minimized by establishing a clean studio practice, and we'll focus on this at every step of our process. This will be emphasized repeatedly during classes, and your children will be expected to leave their workspaces as clean as they found them each day.
Pottery making tools can be sharp or hot, and the equipment that we use can inflict serious bodily harm if not used purposefully and safely. In-depth training and verbal instruction about this will be provided before Children are permitted to use these items themselves.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for guests who break our safety rules. While we don't anticipate challenges during the classes in this camp, we want you to be aware that Children who break these rules will immediately be asked to stop participating in the class session that they're attending. Depending on the severity of what they've done, they may also be banned from attending future classes in this series. In the unlikely event that this happens, we will notify you immediately, and no refunds will be provided.
