The Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida (GRRSWF) is a non-profit organization that’s all about rescuing and finding loving homes for Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes. We’re always up for spreading the word about our mission and connecting with potential adopters, fosters, and supporters. One of our favorite spots to do this is at the Vanderbilt Farmers Market in Naples.
The market is held every Saturday, year around, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Shoppes at Vanderbilt, which is located at 2355 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples, Florida. It’s a great place for us to meet the community and keep working hard to find “forever homes” for homeless, abandoned, or surrendered Goldens.
You’ll often see our “Ambassadogs” Simba, Chance and Bella at the booth. They are Golden Retriever representatives who help reinforce the rescue’s efforts and connect with visitors. We use this chance to share info about adoptable dogs, volunteer and fostering opportunities, and our work to promote responsible pet ownership, spaying/neutering, and animal welfare.
We also raise money by selling cool stuff like T-shirts, tote bags, hats, and stuffed toys (with a Golden Retriever theme). These sales are a part of how we raise money, and guess what? 100% of the proceeds go straight to the care of the dogs! GRRSWF is run entirely by volunteers and doesn’t have any paid staff.
The Vanderbilt Farmers Market is a vibrant place with lots of vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, crafts, and more. It’s a great place to go for a fun outing and to support GRRSWF’s efforts.
For any last-minute updates, like weather changes, check GRRSWF’s Facebook page (
https://www.facebook.com/GRRSWF) or the market’s website (vanderbiltfarmersmarket.com).
If you would like to support GRRSWF, please stop by the booth, meet our great volunteers, and check out the merchandise. Our Golden Retriever-inspired stuff is pretty cool! See you there!
