RULES, REGULATIONS, AND DETAILS
• Entry fee is $300 per boat.
• Catch and release tournament for old red drum.
• One day event on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
• Registration check-in at 2:00pm.
• Captain’s meeting at 3:00pm.
• Blast off at 3:30pm from the mouth of Vandemere Creek.
• Check-in is at 9:30pm or before at Vandemere Waterfront Park. Every boat will be given a time card during the Captain’s meeting that must be time stamped via electronic time clock during check-in. ANY BOAT NOT CHECKED IN BY 9:30PM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED, NO EXCEPTIONS.
• No person or rod limit per boat but all NC Division of Marine Fisheries, NC Wildlife Resources Commission, and US Coast Guard rules and regulations apply.
• All fish must be caught by rod and reel only.
• No bait or tackle will be provided.
• Winnings based on the most fish caught over 36”. Fish will be measured in fork length.
• Measuring device will be provided.
• Every old red drum caught must be proved via time and date stamped picture with the provided measuring device. (all smart phones automatically time and date stamp their pictures)
• Every old red drum caught must be called in on VHF channel 19. Alternate method will be given at the Captain’s meeting.
• Payout will be as follows:
o First place: 30%
o Second place: 20%
o Third place: 10%
• All additional proceeds will benefit Bay River Outreach.
• In the event of a tie, the boat that caught their winning fish first will win.
• In addition to the tournament, there will be an optional $100 Calcutta. Payout is 75% to the winner and 25% to Bay River Outreach. Winnings based on the most fish caught over 36”.
• Awards will be announced after check-in.
• Food will be provided at the awards ceremony.
