Step into an evening of experimental folk, cosmic electronics, and otherworldly soundscapes. Featuring the introspective storytelling of Malcolm Jack, the mind-bending theremin rock of Stephen Hamm: Theremin Man, the unorthodox ambient textures of C. Diab, and the lush analog synth worlds of Luke Requena—celebrating his upcoming album Myth and Murmur. This genre-blurring lineup invites you to disconnect from the digital and reconnect through sound, myth, and vibration.

Theremin Man is a one man electro-rock experience centred around the theremin, synthesizer and growling vocals of Stephen Hamm. A legendary member of the Vancouver Music scene for over thirty years, Stephen continues a prolific, adventurous musical career and has become one of Canada’s most unforgettable and beloved performers. Stephen has played in bands like Slow, Canned Hamm and Nardwuar And The Evaporators. In recent years has shifted his focus to mastering the theremin, an early electronic instrument that one doesn’t touch but plays by interacting with magnetic fields around two antennae. Stephen has been thrilling audiences at clubs, and festivals with wildly creative shows, and has been taking them on a psychedelic musical journey into new abstract dimensions of sound! His new album ‘Live From Planet Earth’ is available streaming now on Light Organ Records.

C. Diab is a musician from the west coast of Canada. He primarily performs and composes music on instruments played incorrectly. His latest album, Imerro, was released by London based imprint Tonal Union.

Luke Requena is a composer and multi-instrumentalist whose main source of sound is analog synthesizers, but also integrates santur, guitar, organ and vocoder. This show will be celebrating the release of his third album, Myth and Murmur, which is due for release on Shady Ridge Records in late August.

Malcolm Jack: Touching on the concepts of modern myth, offline living, ecology and alienation, Vancouver folk singer Malcolm Jack has created a one of a kind world that is as inclusive as it is unique, allowing peers to peer into their own lives and environments with stunning magnification.'
