# 🧠The Junto (Weekly Improvement Club)
No homework. Printed prompts. Leave with one small action.
Fast, friendly discussion for people who like ideas and doing. Newcomers welcome.
Turning talk into action is why I made this meetup called the Junto.
Going to philosophy gatherings and reading self help books are great, but do the talks/ideas ever turn into action? The Junto is our weekly ideas → action club, inspired by Benjamin Franklin and rebuilt for busy modern lives. We keep it practical, upbeat, and finish with one tiny experiment you’ll try this week.
How this works:
Bring one useful thing: a question, a quote/data point, or a tool/link to share
We read aloud Our short passages that we prepared to talk about.
Discuss the topic and offer solutions / new directions.
Leave with a promise: one small action or follow-up you’ll try before next time.
Agenda (tight timeboxes, 75–90 min):
Welcome (Intro, 10 min): “What did everyone bring to discuss and introductions”
Passages and Questions (1 hour): each person offers one question or topic they brought to discuss. with evidence and tools.
Civic Note (20 min): what this means for us here (Vancouver).
What the club can do for mankind/country/friends/you
Promises and Actions for next week (10 min)
Open mingle (optional 10–15 min).
