WHAT MAKES THESE LESSONS UNIQUE
These lessons focus on the authentic Close Embrace / Milonguero style — a way of dancing rarely taught in its true form.
“Close embrace,” in Milonguero Style (also called Apilado or Club style) is different from Close embrace in Salon Style:
– You start in close embrace and you finish in close embrace.
– Real upper-body connection (not just the appearance of being close).
– Lead and follow technique based on shared axis and micro-movement.
– No opening the embrace for big or flashy steps.
– Compact, musical vocabulary designed for crowded floors and small spaces.
– Simple-looking figures that feel elegant, grounded, and deeply connected.
- The focus is internal: connection, musicality, comfort, clarity — rather than external appearance.
This is the style danced every night in the traditional clubs of Buenos Aires and at Encuentros — the style Semiral has been teaching since 1996.
