About the event

Sound and Performance Workshop
Andy Smith (Vancouver Live Sound) in partnership with Sue Malcolm (Canadian Bluegrass Hall of Fame) are pleased to offer a sound and performance workshop.

Our goal is to enable and empower the performer with stage and sound performance skills through an in person, interactive, experiential workshop. We’ll cover two main areas:

1. Stage and performance tips and strategies (Sue), and
2. Sound reinforcement and mic usage skills for live performance (Andy).

Two sound performance scenarios will be used in this workshop:

1. The traditional bluegrass single mic set up
2. Individual voice and instrument micing and use of instrument Di boxes.

We’ll focus on mic technique and placement, sound check, preparation for performance, band placement on stage, how to have fun and connect with the audience, and more as time allows.
There will be a Q and A session at the end.

$15 members
$20 non-members
( includes admission to the jam night afterwards )
