You are invited to dress up (Halloween costumes welcome!) and wear any kind of mask you’d like!
Please make sure your costume is comfortable to dance and lie down in.
Marina, AKA the Holy Mother of the Void, will guide our bodies and souls through a gentle warm up and Halloween inspired ecstatic dance journey. Around this time of year, the veil between the living and the dead is thin. You are invited to call upon your ancestors on the dancefloor – be ready to receive wisdom and whatever other blessings may arise from the other side as we move through time and space together. You are also welcome to bring a photo of your beloved ancestor to add to our altar.
The theme, Masquerade Magic, adds a mysterious layer to the experience. Dancing with a mask concealing your identity is a fantastic way to free yourself from preconceived notions of who you are. Like an ego death, you are free from past versions of yourself and from the roles you normally try to uphold. You can tap into flow state more easily this way; you can simply be and express whatever feels the most true in that moment. As a performing artist, Marina has danced wearing a mask numerous times, and each time was a transformative experience. So she is excited and honoured to share the magic of masks with you.
No Dance experience needed, come as you are.
