This year, Canada is celebrating three decades of officially recognizing Black History Month, acknowledging the resilience, creativity and leadership of Black communities whose influence reaches far beyond this milestone.

We are honouring Black brilliance across generations by centering the voices of elders and uplifting the future they helped make possible. Black seniors are at the heart of this celebration. Their stories, fight, dedication, wisdom, joy and cultures illuminate how Black communities shaped this country as leaders, nation builders, caregivers, advocates, professionals, artists and knowledge keepers, laying the foundation for the imagination and talent that continue to shape our shared future.

Our history is alive, our legacy continues, and our brilliance spans generations.
