Ever feel nervous about speaking up in a meeting or introducing yourself at a networking event? You’re definitely not alone.
Ascend Vancouver is hosting a Skills Development Workshop with Improv — a unique opportunity for Pan-Asian professionals (and allies) to practice public speaking, think on your feet, and embrace stepping outside your comfort zone. Do you ever feel shy about speaking up in meetings, introducing yourself at networking events, or striking a conversation with new people? You are not alone. Many Pan-Asian professionals share this challenge — and this workshop is here to help with that.
Through improv, participants will:
✅ Learn to embrace failure and say “Yes” with confidence
✅ Strengthen networking skills through play and practice
✅ Gain tools to speak up at work and in social settings
No acting or improv experience required, just bring your curiosity and an open mind!
What you'll gain from participating:
Ali Froggatt
A Vancouver-based actor, director, and producer, Ali is the founding artistic director of Tightrope Improv Theatre, a faculty member at Capilano University, and an ITI-certified instructor with the official Theatresports Badge. Rina Shimomura
