Put down your broomsticks and pick up the paddle! Ride into spooky season with a glide through Vancouver’s waters.
Join us for Vancouver’s FIFTH Annual SUP Witches Paddle!
WHERE/WHEN? We’ll meet at Kitsilano Beach on the beach in front of the main washroom building the first Saturday of October, 10/04, take some photos, and we'll hit the water around 11:30am and cackle our way toward Granville Island casting spells along the way. We’ll return back to Kitsilano beach afterwards, but you are welcome to do it one way as well.
WHAT? Please wear a WITCH or WARLOCK costume and try to make sure you dress mostly in BLACK for the best SPOOKY vibes. You can always find affordable, more sustainable costume supplies at local thrift stores. Invite experienced SUP friends and spread the word! - the more the SPOOKIER!
PARKING: There is a pay parking lot at the beach off of Arbutus Street near the tennis courts. Try to either arrive early, carpool, or get dropped off.
WHAT ELSE? I would like to take this opportunity to collect donations for SHARE Family and Community Services. Please bring any packaged food in good condition. Most needed items are nutritious canned goods, whole grain rice or legumes, and baby formula. Cash is also welcome and appreciated, as they can put it towards most needed items. Please don’t forget to bring donations – think of it as your small price of admission and a way to spread some light.
LASTLY / IMPORTANTLY! Please make sure you are an experienced paddler, have a PFD and leash. All paddle levels welcome and no one will be left behind, but this should not be your first time on the board nor should you feel uncomfortable on a board. Paddle at your own risk. There will be no official instruction, leadership, liability, lifeguard, safety personnel or supervision.
LET'S GET SPOOKY!
