Each year, Valparaiso University marks Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a campus and community-wide invitation to reflect, engage, and serve. On Monday, January 19, 2026, we invite you to join us for our convocation program centered on this year’s theme, Being a Good Neighbor: What Are You Doing For Others?
The day begins with the MLK Day Convocation from 10:30 a.m. – noon in the Chapel of the Resurrection, featuring keynote speaker Ragen Hatcher ’00, ’03 J.D., ’05 MBA, a Valpo alumna whose academic journey spans economics, law, business, and finance. Following the convocation, student service engagement activities will begin at 1 p.m. in Harre Union and across the local community, offering opportunities to put reflection into action.
Convocation is free and open to the public. We encourage community members, families, alumni, and neighbors to take part in this meaningful day of learning and reflection.
