This night is a new moon and the skies should be extra dark, great for viewing stars. Bring your viewing devices, picnic blankets, and folding chairs. The expectation is to be able to share devices once they are set up so we can all share viewing experiences. The sun should set around 7. I will adjust event time as needed.
While we wait for the sun to set, we will have 2 activities set up- a “Nature Scene Investigation” and a constellation craft.
Nature Scene Investigation
Ms. Michelle taught at Collin County Adventure for 12 years and is brining her lessons to our area. She will be guiding a “Nature Scene Investigation” before the star gazing.
To summarize, she sets up a scene that mimics an animals death and students determine how humans played a role in that animals death.
The activity is done in groups with her teaching and each group working together to solve the scenes. It will take about an hour so I will adjust the event time accordingly.
Groups will then rotate to do a constellation craft that they will be able to take home.
Lots of yard games available to play before the sun sets.
All ages. Not a drop off.
$5 per kid, $3 per sibling (for craft and investigation supplies). Venmo @spunkyjune with name and event. 4498 is the last 4 of my number.
*barn cat and chickens roam, dogs will be put up*
