A premiere screening of two documentaries produced within the study-unit ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ ๐๐ณ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ด: ๐๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐ช๐ด๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ช๐ง๐ช๐ค ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ค๐ฉ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ถ๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐ช๐ญ๐ฎ, born with the aim of disseminating the research carried out by the ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐, as well as offering both a technical and creative exercise for students of the ๐ .๐. ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ถ๐น๐บ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฒ๐:

The collaboration between the ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒโs Department of Geosciences, led by Professor Sebastiano DโAmico, and the ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฟ๐๐โ M.A. in Film Studies programme, designed and co-ordinated by Professor Gloria Lauri-Lucente and sponsored by the Malta Film Commission, has resulted in the production of two documentaries under the collective title ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐จ.
The unit ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ ๐๐ณ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ด was co-ordinated by Dr Fabrizio Foni, who lectures within the Film Studiesโ programme, and the students were guided throughout the creative process by Justin Farrugia, co-founder of Sharp Shoot Media, one of Maltaโs leading audiovisual production companies, and an alumnus of the same M.A. in Film Studies.
The two documentaries bring to life, through sound and image, the research carried out by Prof. DโAmico and Dr Emanuele Colica at the ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ and the Chapel of Aragon within ๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ต๐ปโ๐ ๐๐ผ-๐๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น. They also provide viewers with a historical context for these two remarkable and, each in their own way, unique sites. Among the various interviewees featured are Adriana Alescio, curator of the extraordinary Co-Cathedral, Tonio Mallia, Chief Executive Officer of The St John's Co-Cathedral Foundation, and Paolo Ferrelli, warden of the Msida Bastion Cemetery, the only surviving British-built monumental cemetery from the early 19th century in Malta.
The two documentaries, with respective runtimes of approximately eighteen and twelve minutes, will premiere on ๐ญ๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ at ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐บ at the ๐๐๐น๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ด๐ป๐ฎ, ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ๐๐.
