🇬🇷 William, a foreign sailor with a passion for music played by Davide Tucci, disembarks from a late-night ferry in Athens, searching for his long-lost father.
He meets Nikodimos, an elderly blind musician, and suspects him to be his father. The two bond, and William is introduced to Nikodimos’ band of misfit rebetiko musicians. As strange earthquakes and eerie events plague the city, an island rises from the bay, and a nightmarish creature threatens reality 👁️🗨️
Nikodimos reveals that their music is the only defense against the Great Devourer, a monstrous being from another dimension. When the creature’s minions attack, the band discovers that music can repel them. They use a church’s speaker system to amplify their music in a climactic battle, driving the beast back to its dimension. Despite losing several friends, the survivors find solace and joy in their music and memories, emerging into a hopeful new day 🦑
