Sunset Grill: A Beer and Bratwurst Bash

Hello everyone! My name is Frank Silveira, and I am the current President of the Solano Sunset Rotary Club and a past MINSY employee, working in both Shops 51 & 67. Our club is hosting a fundraising event in May to generate funds for the installation of an informational kiosk that will be installed at the actual sail of the SSBN 658 Mariano G. Vallejo submarine that is permanently located on Mare Island Naval Shipyard. The kiosk will give visitors the opportunity to scan QR codes installed on the kiosk that will bring up short video presentations. These videos will discuss the submarine itself, what it was like to serve on a submarine, information about the Cold War, what was it like to work on the shipyard and much more. Anyone that purchases a ticket or helps to sponsor the event will have their name added to the movie's credits and become a permanent part of Mare Island history. If you are unable to attend the event, consider a small donation in memory of a past submariner, navy person or employee who served or worked on the Island.
