HJORD (FI)
HJORD is a Finnish-Swedish artist who creates music on the border between Nordic jazz and modern soul. With touching lyrics and an atmospheric soundscape, she invites the audience into her innermost world. After debuting with the single 'Bright' in the winter of 2024, she is now up to date with her first album 'HJORD', which was released in March. During the concert, HJORD offers a journey through themes such as acceptance, love and togetherness.
Sara Ajnnak (SVE)
Sara Ajnnak is paving new paths for Sami music. The concerts are described as an exciting journey in time and space where Sara Ajnnak, with her stage presence, grabs the listener and with her voice conveys emotions that reach deep into the soul. With boundless tones, Sara weaves together history and the present in her innovative compositions. Sara Ajnnak's latest album Homo Sapiens And My People (2021) is in a way a historical depiction but also a statement where Sara in a liberating way conveys musical freedom that moves in the borderland between primordial tones, contemporary texts, melodious melodies and electronic soundscapes in a playful way.
Maija Kauhanen (FI)
Maija Kauhanen is an exceptional musician who uniquely combines virtuosic kantele playing, powerful vocals, and meaningful storytelling. She is a one-woman orchestra: her nimble fingers race across the kantele strings while rhythms resonate from percussion, and her clear voice shapes emotions as vast as life itself. In Maija’s music, tradition and modernity intertwine. She draws from old Finnish and Karelian melodies, blending them with contemporary expression, striking rhythms, and distinctive tonalities. Her songs often tell the stories of women who fight, love, and persevere. Kauhanen’s artistic vision and technical brilliance have made her an internationally acclaimed performer, captivating audiences worldwide. She has received numerous awards, including the Kritiikin Kannukset, an Emma Award, and the prestigious Nordic Council Music Prize. Her music has gained widespread recognition in the world music scene.
