The Rotary Club of Uxbridge is excited to be partnering with the Township of Uxbridge again to create our second mini forest at the Fields of Uxbridge!
A mini forest is a dense community of native trees and plants in a small planted in an area the size of a tennis court. These forests hold many benefits as they can grow up to 10 times faster, sequester carbon dioxide up to 30 times better, and are expected to be 20-100 times more biodiverse than conventionally planted forests.
Site preparation for this mini forest was completed earlier in the summer, and the tree planting will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025 @ 9am at the Fields of Uxbridge.
Please register for the event here:

Free parking will be available at 721 Ball Road. Please wear protective work gloves and boots, and bring your own drinking water.
This mini forest project is a collaboration between The Rotary Club of Uxbridge and The Township of Uxbridge. We are grateful for the generous in-kind donation of compost from The Region of Durham, and mulch from UTS Tree Care. This project was made possible by the financial support of The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, The Rotary Foundation, and contributions from the Rotary Clubs of Etobicoke, Richmond Hill, Toronto, Toronto Eglinton, Whitby, Whitby-Sunrise, Uxbridge, Woodbridge, and York.
