Music - Folk Fusion - Traditional Portuguese Folk
Born under the scorching sun of a Portuguese summer's day and the freezing cold of a Dutch winter night, the upcoming E.P. of the Red Oak Troubadours: PRIMA MATERIA, delves into Traditional Portuguese Folk Music through a modern and multicultural perspective. They are going to make an epic celebration out of it's release at the EKKO!
The Red Oak Troubadours ft. Isabel Martinez (NL/PT) and O Marta (PT) both take inspiration from Traditional Portuguese Folk Music and adapt it in each band's particular way. The Red Oak Troubadours take a multicultural approach, fusing it with the band's original influences from American Folk, Blues and Rock. O Marta takes a more abstract approach, deconstructing it and blending it with Drum and Bass and Experimental Electronic Music. Together, they take the audience on an immersive journey through a variety of Portuguese musical landscapes, sounds and stories that celebrate the musical diversity from this country.
This show is a unique collaboration between Utrecht and Porto musicians celebrating the rich Portuguese Folk musical traditions. Joining the bands outside of the stage, a collective of artists and creatives will be exhibiting and selling their work in the EKKO café.
