On the day of the summer solstice we can dance the Underscore simultaneously around the globe. And this year you have the opportunity to dance the Global Underscore together with us in Utrecht!
The Underscore, a long-form dance improvisation structure created by Nancy Stark Smith, incorporates Contact Improvisation (CI) into the broader arena of improvisational dance practice.
The Global Underscore (GUS) centers around a yearly event in which the Underscore is practiced simultaneously during a 4-hour period by dancers all over the world near the summer solstice (northern hemisphere).

16:00 Doors are open and Gathering;
Talk-Through and further explanation about the Underscore Jam.
16:45 - 20:00 Underscore jamming.
Including opening and closing rituals of the "facings".

It is highly recommended to attend the Talk-Through at 4:00 pm, so you will be informed about how to enjoy the whole event and score the most.
We will have a potluck dinner afterwards so feel free to stay and bring some food for sharing.
Price: € 15 (minimum €10 for low income) - part of the payment will be donated to the GUS organisation.
