Nationen bjuder in till talarträff med ingen mindre än Johan Stenkula, en av sveriges främsta safariexperter!
Johan har arbetat som professionell safariguide i över 25 år och guidat mer än 8 000 gäster genom Afrikas vildmarker. Han har producerat resor för både privatpersoner och resebyråer och har en unik expertis inom Afrikas flora och fauna – med en särskild passion för fågelskådning. Johans erfarenheter sträcker sig från savannerna i Östafrika och sanddynerna i Namibia, till Okavangodeltat, Kilimanjaros sluttningar, Zanzibar och täta regnskogar fyllda med schimpanser och gorillor.
Han är dessutom fotograf och bildleverantör till Nyhetsbyrån TT, har medverkat i TV-produktioner som WildKids, varit lodge manager och är djupt engagerad i hållbar ekoturism.
Under föreläsningen kommer Johan att ta med oss på en resa genom livet som safariguide, där han delar med sig av sina möten med Afrikas vilda djur och reflekterar kring frågor som tjuvjakt och naturvård. Han kommer även att prata om turismens roll och betydelse i regionen, och ge en inblick i guidningens konst – alltifrån service och bemötande till hur man skapar minnesvärda upplevelser för resenärer. Kvällen bjuder dessutom på en bildvisning från Johans expeditioner samt en öppen frågestund.
Träffen hålls i Brundisiums nedervåning – den grå byggnaden framför det rosa slottet. Dörrarna öppnar kl. 18:00 och föreläsningen börjar kl. 18:30. Efter evenemanget bjuds det på en middag, komponerad av Nationens T-träffsvärdar. Antalet platser är begränsat och anmälan är bindande och görs via formuläret nedan. Drop in är möjligt i mån av plats.

The Nation invites you to an exciting evening with none other than Johan Stenkula, one of Sweden’s most experienced and knowledgeable safari guides!
Johan has worked as a professional safari guide for over 25 years, guiding more than 8,000 guests through the African wilderness. He has designed trips for both private individuals and travel agencies and possesses unique expertise in African flora and fauna – with a special passion for birdwatching. Johan’s experiences span from the savannas of East Africa and the dunes of Namibia, to the Okavango Delta, the slopes of Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, and dense rainforests home to chimpanzees and gorillas.
He is also a photographer and image contributor for the Swedish news agency TT, has appeared in TV productions such as WildKids, has worked as a lodge manager, and is deeply involved in sustainable ecotourism.
During the lecture, Johan will take us on a journey through the life of a safari guide, sharing encounters with Africa’s wild animals and reflecting on important topics like poaching and conservation. He’ll also speak about the role and impact of tourism in the region, and offer insight into the art of guiding – from service and hospitality to how to create unforgettable experiences for travelers. The evening will also feature a photo presentation from Johan’s expeditions and an open Q&A session.
The event will be held in the lower floor of Brundisium – the grey building in front of the pink castle. Doors open at 18:00 and the lecture will start at 18:30. After the event, a dinner will be served, prepared by the Nation's T-träff hosts. Seating is limited, and registration is binding, to be made via the form below. Drop-ins may be possible if there are available seats.
