Day trip to Norrtälje – Saturday August 9 2025
Hi everyone!
Let’s spend a laid‑back day exploring Norrtälje – a charming coastal town with historic wooden houses, cozy cafés, art and museums. It’s located about 1.5 hours by bus from Uppsala.
🚌 We’ll take bus 677 from Uppsala Central Station. The journey is approximately 1.5 hours. There’s frequent busses back to Uppsala, so we can decide together when to head home. You can use your UL/SL ticket (about 43 SEK) or travelcard.
🎨 Activities in Norrtälje: All activities are optional.
Pythagoras Industrial Museum – step into an early 20th-century engine factory and see historic machinery in action.
🎟️ Entry: 140 SEK, 120 SEK for students/pensioners, 80 SEK for children.
🎧 A free English audio guide is available for download!
Norrtälje Art Hall (Konsthallen) – free admission, contemporary art exhibitions.
Roslagens Museum – local history exhibition with an English guided tour at 15:00, free admission.
Optional walk on Roslagsleden – One of the official stages of the Roslagsleden trail starts in Norrtälje. If you’d like a taste of Swedish nature, we can take a short scenic walk at the beginning of the trail.
🌈 Roslagen Pride will also take place this day in Societetsparken. The parade begins at 13:00 – vibrant, colorful and inclusive!
🍱 Feel free to bring your own lunch – there are plenty of green spots to sit and eat. Or we can have lunch at a local restaurant – we’ll decide together in the WhatsApp group.
