Aphasia rehabilitation in a changing world – future directions and possibilities

With only six years left to reach the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development Goals we need to reflect on the challenges and possibilities for future aphasia rehabilitation especially in areas such as good health and wellbeing, quality education, and sustainable cities and communities.

The Nordic Aphasia Conference 2025 aims to focus on future directions and possibilities for aphasia rehabilitation in a rapidly changing world.

We live in a time where we face changes related to demographics, limited resources, an increasingly multicultural and multilingual society, demands on oral and written communication, as well as a rapid development of digital technology including AI.

These global changes have an impact on individuals with aphasia and on aphasia rehabilitation and we hope this conference can be a meeting place to discuss many examples of positive developments and possibilities for the advancement of aphasia rehabilitation.
