the Huddled Masses Orchestra at 2025 Common Ground Country Fair, Saturday Sep 20th 2 PMs

the Huddled Masses Orchestra will appear at the Common Ground Fair for the third year in a row, Saturday Sept 20th at 2 PM near "the sun dial." this is a fourteen-piece brass band on the grassy green space, providing respite from the kaleidoscope of activities for those who just might need time to let the kids run around for a bit.

"New England has a long tradition of brass bands playing in the town gazebo," said Joe Niemczura, the leader. "most of us cut our teeth playing in that format. We are not exactly a town band. We play a mix of east European dance music along with American pop hits and even some African and Latin tunes."

'We are Maine's only Serbian-style brass band," he said. "Brass music is very popular in that country and the annual trumpetFest in Guca Serbia attracts 400,000 fans from around the world every August."
