Wicca is a modern, earth-based religion based on the ancient folk magick and beliefs of the British Isles. Modern day Wicca works with the magick of the elements of nature and honors the divine feminine. It is one of the fastest growing religions in the country and has helped many develop inner power and find a deeper connection to the magick all around them.
The Philosophy and Magick of Wicca Class is an eight week course taught by Denise White that provides a solid knowledge and skill base. It includes lectures, group discussions, exercises and guided meditations. Appropriate for beginners as well as experienced solitary practitioners who wish to expand their knowledge base and learn more about group magickal practice.
This course will meet weekly on Fridays from 7:15 – 8:45 pm. Classes will begin September 19th and concludes November 7th. Course classes will be held at OMBody, 90 West Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401. Students will also have access to a virtual study group for the duration of the course. Students will need to pick up a copy of "The Spiral Dance" by Starhawk, any edition is fine.
The cost of the entire course is $40 and collected in advance to cover space use and the cost of supplies. Space is limited to 10 participants. Denise White is a third-degree Wiccan high priestess and Elder Priestess of a local progressive Wiccan coven, RiverSong. She holds clergy credentials through Covenant of the Goddess and is active with Hills and Rivers local council. Denise has taught and trained folks in the Pittsburgh and local area for several years and is excited to share the beautiful path of Wicca to those who are interested.
