JET is a dynamic and vibrant hub that originated from extensive research and meaningful dialogues with Black entrepreneurs, led by faculty members at Kean University and supported by a grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

The contributions of our members through dues are foundational, not only supporting the mission at its core but also fueling the unique financial assistance we offer, such as monthly forgivable loans.

Beyond financial aid, our commitment encompasses broadening access to a spectrum of vital resources, including human, social, and technological assets.

This initiative was born from a series of in-depth interviews and interactive workshops, aimed at delving into the resilience and unique challenges faced by Black business owners. A key insight was the expressed need for a dedicated referral and networking group tailored specifically to Black entrepreneurs.

At JET, we harness the communal spirit to bridge gaps and create opportunities, actively facilitating business referrals among members. This deliberate exchange is central to our ethos, ensuring each member's business aspirations are supported by the patronage of their peers.
