National Train Day 2025

All Aboard! 🚂 Join the Western Maryland Railway Historical Society in Union Bridge, MD, as we celebrate National Train Day 2025! 🎉

FREE ADMISSION for all ages! Come celebrate the joy of trains and train travel with us on this special Saturday open house! Did you know that May 10th, 1869, marked the completion of the first transcontinental railroad with the driving of the Golden Spike? Explore the rich history of the Western Maryland Railway in Carroll County and across Maryland within our 123-year-old Railroad Station and office building.

🚂 What to see:
• Full-size railroad artifacts and exhibits
• Model trains of all sizes and scales
• Possible locomotive display from our local Maryland Midland Railroad!
• Weather permitting, equipment displays from the Chesapeake & Allegheny Steam Preservation Society!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 For the Kids (and peace of mind for parents):
• Child ID Program table setup where parents can create an ID Kit with their child's important information to keep at home.

🌭 Fuel Up!
• There will be a Hot Dog stand on site.
