Festival of Archaeology Walk & Talk: Sheffield Park’s Cricketing History

As part of the Festival of Archaeology at Sheffield Park and Garden, join archaeologist Nathalie Cohen on a one-off walk and talk on Sheffield Park's cricketing history.

Learn all about Henry North Holroyd, the Third Earl of Sheffield, and his love of all things cricket. Hear all about how he set about creating a world-class cricket pitch, and how he famously hosted the Australian cricket team in 1896, along with 25,000 spectators and the Prince of Wales.

The Nationwide Festival of Archaeology is an annual event coordinated by the Council for British Archaeology.

This walks doesn't need pre-booking but is on a first come, first served basis. This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.
