Michael Blackson, known as The African King of Comedy, has become one of the most original voices in stand-up, earning laughs around the globe with his bold, high-energy performances. He broke through with a scene-stealing role in the hit film Next Friday, handpicked by Ice Cube after a standout set at The Comedy Store. Blackson’s rise began with appearances on BET’s ComicView, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, Showtime at the Apollo, and Live in Hollywood, and he later lit up the screen in a commercial for Chappelle’s Show on Comedy Central. His top-selling sketch CD Modasucka: Welcome to America further cemented his status as a fan favorite.
