Native November Speaker Series - Celebrating Choctaw Lifeways Through Song, Dance & Instrumentation

Please join us at the Tvshkahomma Capitol Museum as we commence our "Native November Speaker Series.”

Historic Preservation Associate, T'ata Begay will host a presentation entitled Celebrating Choctaw Lifeways Through Song, Dance and Instrumentation. The discussion will explore the lasting cultural traditions of the Choctaw people through music, movement and traditional instruments. T'ata will illustrate the deep-rooted connection of the Choctaw community to its songs, dances, and musical expressions, highlighting how these practices continue to thrive and evolve. The overview will celebrate the resilience and vibrancy of Choctaw heritage, providing insight into how traditions link generations and promote retention and maintenance of identity.
