About the event

Tunbridge Ride
Dog River Horse Club 2025 Annual Weekend Trail Ride
September 19th - 21st 2025

Fall is the best time of the year for trail riding in Vermont. The trails are beautiful, and the views are incredible with very few flies.
Trail etiquette says riders are to stay on marked trails and off lawns, yards, and other properties. It is very important to respect and be courteous to all vehicles, towns people, landowners, etc. We want to leave a positive impression on the people of Tunbridge, so our group is welcome to come back each year. If you are having a challenging time at a certain spot, please ask the nearest person riding next to you to please stop or give you a quick hand. We have found everyone that attends this ride is always more than willing to help.

The fun begins on Friday at 1 o’clock when you arrive at the fairgrounds.
Get yourself and your horse all set up for the weekend, relax, stretch your legs, or take your horse out for a short ride around the fairgrounds or on some of the nearby dirt roads.

The terrain at Tunbridge can be very hilly, but scenic. You’ll be on some dirt roads, class 4 roads, trails and beautiful meadows. We will have to cross some paved roads and ride a short distance on pavement.
Because of the beautiful mountains, cell service is spotty, but texting is possible for most locations.

Each day begins with a full-catered breakfast, and at 8:15 AM a trail information talk. You’ll be given tickets when you arrive. Please bring all your tickets with you to each meal. Riders can head out at 10 AM each day. Three or four people will head out about 8:45 am to check the markers. Lunch on Saturday will be served in the field with a porta potty. We will have a mounting block to help folks get back on their horse.

Stalls are available and limited to the first eighty horses. If you leave behind a dirty stall, you will be billed $50 extra. Please, there is no parking or camping in front of the stalls. You must stay on the Fair Grounds and attend to your horse. Horses cannot be left in a stall unattended.
(The damage caused to stalls will be billed to the Horse owner.) Portable fencing paddocks are very welcome next to your trailer approximately 30 x 30 for each horse.
There are two designated areas for manure dumping at each end of the horse racetrack. We would greatly appreciate your help keeping the grounds clean. All manure and hay must be cleaned up.

The caterers will order all the food on September 5th. Any cancellations after 6:00p.m. on the 5th, only your camping fee can be refunded.
A full refund will be granted when requested by phone or email no later than September 5th by 6:00pm.
Contact Patricia Branon at 802-343-4140 or her email Y2xhc3NpY2FycmlhZ2UgfCBnbWFpbCAhIGNvbQ==
Also, a full refund for riders that have an emergency or accident. Refunds will be issued within 30 days after the event.

New this year.
Dog River horse club is looking for people to take down Ribbon markers from both days. You can pull Saturdays markers on Sunday. Stay overnight on Sunday and pull Sundays on Monday or just stay as late as you want on Sunday and grab the markers.
Anyone interested in volunteering to pull markers, contact Karen Blow at 802-839-0147 or email me a2F5YmVlODggfCB5YWhvbyAhIGNvbQ== to work out the details.

Things to bring for your comfort.
An extension cord, garden hose, muck bucket of any kind, small heater, electric blanket, or throw.

Most of all! DOG RIVER HORSE CLUB Would like to THANK each and every one of you that come year after year. We always look forward to this weekend and meeting new friends to share our wonderful small town of Tunbridge. This trail ride would be nothing without all you wonderful people with amazing horses.
