The Kevin Prater Band plays Jenny Brook Bluegrass Festival

So excited to play Jenny Brrok for the first time...

Celebrating his 45th Anniversary in 2025, Band leader, Kevin Prater began his bluegrass journey at age seven, now 45 years later Kevin has shared his talents in 24 countries, 49 states. Now in year 16 leading The Kevin Prater Band throughout the USA and Canada, playing 103 shows in 2024. 2023 found the band playing 88 shows and signing a record deal with Turnberry Records of California. First single "Kentucky Mountain Memories" released April 2024, May 17 it was #6 in the world on the Roots Music Charts. By year end of 2024 the band will play 104 shows and release the full CD, their sixth project.

Multi award winning Kevin Prater has assembled an amazingly talented group of young pickers to help create the. bands "Coal-Fired, Pure Kentucky Bluegrass" sound. In addition to Kevin on mandolin, Mallory Hindman of Reader, WV. on fiddle. Mallory began her training at age 9, studying classical for four years, until the Kenny Baker bluegrass bug bit her. She is a student of the late Byron Berline and Eddie Stubbs of the Grand Ole Opry. On guitar, mega talented Dalton Smith of Alderson, WV. Dalton plays all the instruments, sings all the parts, even drives bus. He is a former staff musician at Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Theater. Codie Allen - Codie Allen is from Campbellsville, Kentucky. Coming from a long line of musicians, Codie grew up listening to a wide variety of music but has always been especially attracted to bluegrass music. In Highschool Codie decided to learn banjo, instantly falling in love with it. Codie has a hometown band, "Redwire Bluegrass". On bass, Larry Cadle, a professional musician hailing from the small town of Killbuck, Ohio. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays various styles of music as well as a great vocalist. Larry has played with many bands or many genres, but he always comes back to bluegrass.
