Yoga for Justice: Donation Based Class to Support Michelle Free (Rementeria)

Join us for a heart-centered, donation-based yoga class to raise awareness and support for Michelle Free (Rementeria)—a beloved mother, friend, small business owner, and longtime member of our Be Love Yoga community—who is currently detained by ICE and facing deportation to Chile.

This is not the deportation of a violent criminal. This is the attempted removal of a kind, compassionate woman who has called the U.S. home for nearly 25 years. Michelle's only charge—a misdemeanor from over a decade ago that was dismissed after she completed a year of probation—is now being used against her by a system that too often disregards humanity in favor of harsh policies.

Michelle is a devoted mother to her 2-year-old daughter Marlee, and wife to Matthew Free, who are both fighting tirelessly to keep their family together. While detained, Michelle is unable to work or care for her family, and the legal fees associated with her case are overwhelming.

Let us come together as a community—on our mats and in our hearts—to support Michelle and her family during this incredibly difficult time. All proceeds from this class will go directly toward her legal defense.
