About the event

What are the Indigenous Cultural and Ecological Foundations of Pluralism in North America?
Join us on July 14th from 1-2pm at the Helmerich Center for American Research for an engaging introduction to Dr. Karim-Aly S. Kassam, short-term fellow at the Helmerich Center. In this session, Professor Kassam explores how Indigenous knowledge reveals the cultural and ecological foundations of pluralism in North America. This is a special opportunity to learn from his time in the archives and consider how diverse ways of knowing can inform our understanding of environmental and social resilience.

Dr. Karim-Aly S. Kassam is the International Professor of Environmental and Indigenous Studies at Cornell University, where his research bridges biological and cultural diversity with a focus on Indigenous knowledge systems, climate change adaptation, food systems, and sustainable livelihoods.

This FREE event is open to the public and registration is not required. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to hear from a distinguished scholar and engage with important discussions surrounding climate change.

The event will be held at 2501 W. Newton St, Tulsa, OK 74127. Please enter from Newton Street and park in the lot between HCAR and Gilcrease Museum.
