In this behind-the-scenes session, Laurie Tilley, Special Initiatives Advisor, shares the “why” behind the College’s decision to introduce a mascot after 54 years, and the two-year journey that led to its final form. From inspiration to identity, discover how a symbol has been selected to rally spirit, pride, and community at TCC.
About our Speaker: Laurie Tilley, Strategic Marketing Consultant and owner of Laurie Tilley LLC
Laurie Tilley is a strategic marketing leader and community advocate with over 30 years of experience in advertising, branding, and public engagement. She currently serves as Special Initiatives Advisor at Tulsa Community College, where she previously led the college’s marketing and communications efforts.
Laurie’s professional background includes decades in agency leadership, including as Executive Vice President at Littlefield Agency. She is a graduate of the University of Tulsa, and a proud alumna of Leadership Oklahoma, where she served as Chairman of the board of directors and received the Helping Oklahoma Award.
A strong believer in service and equity, Laurie co-founded Project Elf, a grassroots effort that provides basic essentials to students in need across Tulsa-area schools and she received the Woman of the Year Pinnacle Award for Community Building. She continues to be active in nonprofit and education initiatives throughout the community.
