🧵 Ribbon Skirt + Vest Sewing Workshop 🧵
Sunday, August 10 | 4pm–7pm | Burning Cedar Sovereign Wellness
Join us for a special evening of creativity and cultural connection at our Ribbon Skirt + Vest Sewing Workshop, led by Cherokee textile artist Jennifer McAffrey. In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to sew your own ribbon skirt or ribbon vest — a meaningful garment rooted in Indigenous identity and tradition. Sewing machines and materials will be provided.
Jennifer is an award-winning artist whose work has been featured in Indigenous fashion shows across Indian Country, including the Cherokee Art Market and the Trail of Tears Art Show, where she recently took first place in the textiles category.

- Instruction and support to sew your own ribbon skirt or vest
- Cultural context and conversation around traditional regalia
- Guidance from a celebrated Cherokee textile artist
- A welcoming, hands-on learning space
