Public Art Tour + Meet Muralist Bill Singleton

Celebrate Tucson’s rich history and vibrant public art scene on this guided 1.5-mile walking tour through downtown. Beginning at the Tucson Presidio Museum, the tour explores a variety of murals and public art—including several new works that honor Tucson’s 250+ year history.

A highlight of the tour is a visit to The Tucson Gallery, where you’ll meet local muralist Bill Singleton and hear firsthand about his art and creative process.

This tour lasts approximately 3 hours, with a mid-way break at the gallery, followed by complimentary refreshments provided at The National café.

Bill Singleton is an artist who, having been raised on the south side of Tucson near the Tohono O’odham reservation, has long been immersed in the city's rich culture and unique landscape. He earned a B.F.A. in Studio Art from the University of Arizona and has spent over 50 years painting in oils, acrylics, and digital media. His work spans everything from small botanical studies to massive historic murals, with subjects ranging from landscapes to fantasy. Singleton has exhibited widely, illustrated for major publishers, and contributed hundreds of illustrations to the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan and other regional projects.
