Peña Organ Quartet Plays Benson Burner (Dr Lonnie Smith & George Benson)

This electrifying tribute will capture the funky swing, blistering solos, and rich textures that defined the golden era of soul jazz, with Peña channeling Dr. Smith’s signature Hammond B3 fire and finesse.

Joining Peña is a powerhouse ensemble featuring Matt Mitchell on guitar, Josh Carruthers on drums and Max Goldschmid on bari and tenor saxophone, whose fiery tone and improvisational daring will bring the spirit of the original sessions to life. With a tight rhythm section locked into vintage grooves, this concert promises a night of infectious energy, deep cuts, and virtuosic interplay.
