CJ Mickens, a Las Vegas native, discovered his love for music at the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts and began performing through his church. After moving to the Pacific Northwest at 15, he won multiple music awards and later appeared on American Idol and Showtime at the Apollo. He has performed with legends like Gladys Knight and Lionel Richie and won Portland Idol in 2012.
