A new exhibit honoring the life and legacy of the artist Nall Hollis, who passed away in September 2024, will open at Troy University’s International Arts Center on Thursday, Oct. 2.
The exhibit, Collected Visions I: The Nall Archive, will debut in the IAC’s Nall Museum and Gallery during a special reception and celebration of Hollis’ life from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
This exhibition offers a focused look into a much larger body of work—a glimpse into the depth and complexity of Nall’s archive. As the first installation in the Collected Visions exhibition series, it features early Nall pieces, works by artists who he admired, and selections from the personal collection he built over a lifetime of creative exploration.
The evening will also feature a live performance of Cosmic Harmonies by composer Robert W. Smith, performed by Dave Camwell and Ben Crook—adding a rich, musical layer to this celebration of life and legacy.
“Nall’s archive is not just a collection – it’s a reflection of a lifelong pursuit of art, dialogue and connection,” said Carrie Jaxon, Director and Curator of the International Arts Center. “Collected Visions I offers a glimpse into Nall’s world, where visitors can see some of his early work, artwork he collected and other impactful pieces. This exhibition is part of a remarkable collection graciously gifted to Troy University by Nall, and it’s an honor to steward this legacy and share it with our community.”
