If you enjoyed "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged", you will LOVE "The Complete History of the Theatre, Abridged" by Matt Thompson! Three actors, portraying William Shakespeare, Sarah Bernhardt, and Constantine Stanislavsky take the audience from the earliest Greek stages to the exotic Kabuki theatres to the quiet antics of mimes to the current debates over who really wrote Shakespeare's masterpieces! As the trio attempt to hold the show together, the producer appears on stage to make matters worse, and time starts running out on their rental of the performance space. Can they finish the show in time? Will the fact that the playwright hasn't written an ending stop the cold, or can they enlist the help of the audience to bring a satisfying conclusion to the zany antics?
Director Mike Maxon is seeking 4 performers - 2 men, 1 woman, and 1 either gender - of various ages for this madcap farce!
Auditions are Monday December 8th and Wednesday, December 10th, at 7 pm at the Barn in the Park, and will consist of cold readings from the script. Please note - there are NO auditions on Tuesday, December 9th, due to another commitment in the theatre.
Performances for "The Complete History of the Theatre, Abridged" will run February 27th through March 1st and March 6th through 8th, 2026, with start times at 8:00 pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 pm on Sundays.
