Private Spring Mushroom Foray: Saturday, May 17th

Booking this Private Foray slot allows you to bring a group of up to 12 folks for your own personal guided spring mushroom foray. Come experience an enchanting and educational day learning about spring mushrooms and their habitat in the Pacific Northwest.

We will spend time developing a well-rounded understanding of fungi, their structure, function in the environment and how to responsibly forage. Bring your friends and family and book this private foray to secure your date!

This event is a foray, meaning we will learn about any spring mushrooms we come across, not one particular species alone. However, there will be an emphasis on the identification and habitats of any edible mushrooms we come across, notably the morel and spring porcini. Ultimately education is the goal, not filling baskets with edibles. The deeper understanding of mushrooms and fungi we have will help us become more successful foragers as a whole.

This is a beginner-friendly course and perfect for those wanting hands-on experience and guidance as they learn to identify and deepen their appreciation for fungi. Please let me know if there will be any children in attendance.

This course will meet near Trout Lake, Washington, meet location directions are given upon registration, please read your registration letter thoroughly.

We begin with a welcome then will carpool/caravan from our meet location to our field location. Our field location is generally 10 minutes from our meet location and within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Thank you to the Forest Service for allowing me permission to run my educational programs within the GPNF.

Requirements:

• For this class, folks must be willing and able to walk off trail in the woods, in sometimes rugged terrain. We will not be on even ground or on clear paths the entire time, often walking off-trail and through brush. Class will happen rain or shine, so you must be willing and prepared to spend the day in the rain.
• You will also be required to obtain an online mushroom permit and bring the printed permit with you to class, link for online permit sent in registration confirmation.
• Bring your curiosity and kindness. I have high expectations for those attending these forays to take care of the forest and each other, curiosity and kindness will make this a great experience for all.

Course taught by Rachel Zoller, known for her online presence under the business name "Yellow Elanor" (yellowelanor.com). She is a Myco-Educator, teaching mushroom foraging workshops and lectures throughout the Pacific Northwest as well as creating educational mushroom content online.

Forays go live March 7th at 6:00pm, no password will be needed then.

However, there are two ways to get early access.

1. Folks registered on Patreon receive an early access password week prior to the general public.

50% refund if under three weeks but more than two weeks from the date

No refunds for cancelations within two weeks of the event
