On Saturday, November 1st, at Amtmandens, ADG7 will take you on a spiritual and uplifting journey. With an ensemble of traditional Korean musicians and powerhouse female folk singers, their sound is both rooted in history and infused with a bold, modern twist. They blend ancient instruments like the daegeum, saenghwang, and gayageum with the energetic rhythms of pop, funk, and soul, creating a vibrant musical fusion that’s as deeply cultural as it is exuberant.
Performing repertoire drawn from the sacred gut (ritual music) and minyo (folk song) traditions of the Hwanghae-do region (now in North Korea), ADG7’s music carries the blessings of spiritual energy and the joy of liberation. Their powerful vocals and infectious melodies will connect you to the roots of Korean culture while making you want to dance, smile, and experience the spirit of reunification through music.
Founded in 2015 to mark the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation, ADG7 has been redefining traditional Korean music for the modern world. With multiple awards under their belt — including Best Group at the 2018 KBS Korean Traditional Music Award — and performances at WOMEX 2019 and globalFEST 2020, ADG7 is an international force, having wowed audiences at Glastonbury, Roskilde, and across Europe and North America.
