What is the social couple dance Kizomba?
Originally from Angola, in Africa, Kizomba is both a dance style and a music genre is usually sung in Portuguese or creole dialects. Derived from Semba, it’s often remixed with R&B, Pop and Electronic music. Kizomba, the dance, is an evolution of the traditional dances of Angola and Cape Verde.
In the 1990s, when the Kizomba music got more and more popular, Angolan Semba dancers started to adapt their Semba steps to the tempo and flavour of the Kizomba beats. Now danced all over the world I Latin social scene.
