Join us for our Second Saturdays Literary Open Mic at The Commons! This year, our Literary Open Mic will be a variety of locations to help support local businesses.

Every 2nd Saturday of the month CREATE Trinidad (formerly known as Corazón de Trinidad Creative District) hosts a Literary Open Mic with a featured writer. Come listen to our featured writer share their work and then jump up to share writing you created or admire. All ages are welcome to share any genre of original work or work you love. Light refreshments will be provided.

About our Featured Writer:
Darek Thomas is a graduate of CSU-Pueblo with an honorary degree in History. He has studied creative writing at Elgin Community College, Pueblo Community College and at CSU-Pueblo. Currently he is serving on The Historic Preservation Commission and on the Trinidad Urban Renewal Authority in Trinidad, Colorado. He has written poetry for nearly thirty years and releases his first published collection of poetry, Overcoming My Fear of Nature, this month.
